The Renaissance is a new $220 million hotel designed with a modern sensibility that reflects Montgomery’s recent progressive growth. It comfortably blends into the city’s historic district with the metal bracket design in the hotel’s grand lobby paying tribute to the adjacent Union Train Station built in the late 1800’s.
The hotel’s custom carpet design and guest room sheers incorporate the Camellia, the state flower of Alabama. All artwork in the project was completed by local Alabama artists. The combination of bronze and brushed nickel used throughout the hotel relate to the past but also usher in a more progressive contemporary feel: the bronze detailing reflects the past; the brushed nickel the future.
The hotel has 345 guest rooms, multiple meeting rooms, a boardroom, a re-design of the 74,000 square foot exhibit hall, a 9,000 square foot European spa, and a 14,000 square foot ballroom, which is the largest and most luxurious in the state of Alabama. The luxurious Presidential suite includes a master bath with a Japanese soaking tub. The dining room has the largest wine selection in the state. Sixty additional outdoor terrace seats with a fire pit and covered area add to the amenities.
Each “smart” guest room is packed with state-of-the-art technology. In fact, the hotel owners wanted the hotel design to be one of the most high-tech hotels in the world, maintaining its high-tech edge throughout the next decade.
