Built in 1892 to attract winter visitors from the north, the Windsor is a five story Victorian structure complete with towers, balconies, and a three story open atrium lobby. After many years of grandeur, it fell on hard times and was closed for 17 years. Civic pride banded the townspeople together to raise the money necessary to restore the grand old hotel. The new interior captures the original ambience from detailed written descriptions of the original colors and furnishings. Visitors now can stay in any of the 53 period style rooms with all modern amenities. No two rooms are exactly the same, so each room has its own warmth and style.
